Maritime transport

The sea transport is the most important mode of transport for goods (merchant navy).

The transport of people by sea lost a lot of importance because of the development of the commercial aviation; it remains significantly in only two well defined sectors: the short crossings and the cruises.

To be complete, we can add the scientific and exploration missions and the sports races, which do not strictly speaking sea transport.

Maritime transport is by nature international, except sometimes in its cabotage functions, along the coasts of a country.

By nature the sea transport is international, except sometimes in its functions of coastal navigation.

Squalt marine international is currently working on two projects:

  • a cargo ship with sails,
  • a catamaran for passenger transport.

Documentation describing these projects will soon be online.
